Our story

Dakota Paws was not the goal when I started studying about dog treats. One of our dogs, Lilly, is older and was on pain meds for years. After walks, she would limp terrible. I studied dog food and treats to see if I could help her. I started baking all-natural treats and changed her food including adding a daily supplement. Within one month, she was not limping and has been off all pain meds ever since. It was incredible!

I was convinced to keep baking and as I started telling family and friends, Dakota Paws was born! I knew our dogs deserved better and so do yours!

I could not leave out the cats or horses, so they were added to the business. A lot of store cat treats contain chicken by-product that is listed as the first ingredient which is not nutritious, and has been sitting on a warehouse shelf for how long? I wanted to feed our cats and sell cat treats that they would love and would be healthy for them. I truly enjoy the comments I get after a customer tells me how finicky their cat is, and their cat ends up loving our treats!

Horses deserve great treats too! Our apple treats are such a hit! I am working on adding more options for horses so stay tuned!

I’m a dog/cat mom, animal and nature lover. I support our local animal rescues and believe all animals deserve a loving home with healthy foods, including treats!
